Sonny Bill Williams will fight Ex Bachelorette star Stu Laundy in a fight night in Sydney on December 1.
Preparations have already begun for the fight.
“I’ve already engaged the services of a Funeral Services director. I’d like a big funeral. I think I’ve lived a big life.” said Laundy.
The site of the funeral plot has not yet been released but with funeral plots in high demand the site may be somewhere outside of Sydney.
The fight will be sanctioned by the NSW Combat Sports Authority, who have already organised a doctor ringside to pronounce Laundy officially dead.
This is expected to occur 3 seconds into the first round.
At that point the body of Laundy will be transported by the funeral directors in a hearse directly to a chapel in Woollahra with mourners following.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has already said he sees no problem with Williams fighting so soon after he’s expected to play three Tests for New Zealand overseas.
“Look, from my understanding I think it’s only going to take three seconds,” Hansen said.
Asked what songs he’d like played at his funeral Laundy was adamant, “Got to be ‘Here I Go Again On My Own’ by Whitesnake. It’s a classic”.
The wake is to be held on the Laundy family superyacht.
Sophie Monk is expected to attend the fight but not the funeral afterwards.
Some have called for the fight to be stopped as it is tantamount to voluntary Euthanasia.
