Since news broke that Belle Gibson is an avid punter via her Sportsbet account, rumours have circulated that the much-loved cancer survivor was odds-on favourite to be the sports betting agency’s ambassador.
“Quite frankly we’re counting on the goodwill surrounding Belle to pull us out of the $1 million hole we dug ourselves after the election catastrophe,” said Sportsbet CEO Billy Noke.
“She’s a cancer survivor, she’s an astute business woman and she’s a battler who turned it all around because she bet on herself and that’s why Aussies love her” said Noke.
Ladbrokes currently have Mr Noke at $1.01 to be replaced by the end of the week.
