The Secret Service are investigating which White House staffer stuck a derogatory “Baby on Board” sticker on the back window of the Presidential limousine.
The offensive sticker was removed today in the wake of a disastrous meeting in Finland with Vladimir Putin during which Mr Trump has suggested his own country should accept responsibility for the tensions and hostility between the United States and Russia right now.
“We don’t know who would disrespect President Trump in such a way,” a Trump staffer said.
Currently at the White House there are 1,223 staff not including Trump himself.
The Press Gallery asked if there were any suspects.
The official current number of suspects is 1223.
Reaction to Trump’s meeting with Putin has been severe:
CNN editor-at-large Chris Cillizza said, “Trump’s wilful ignorance of the fact that Russia actively interfered in the 2016 election is bad enough. His defence of Putin — he says he didn’t do it! — in the face of the unanimous intelligence community conclusion that Russia did, in fact, meddle in our election is even worse”.
Mr Trump faced an immediate backlash for seeming to be unwilling to stand up to Mr Putin.
Senior Republican Senator John McCain deemed the joint press conference “disgraceful” and a “low point” for the US presidency.
