Surry Hills residents have demanded a sign on Albion Street be removed after it was deemed overtly aggressive.

Charlotte Murch, sculptor 27, said “Umm, excuse me, what do they mean ‘watch my step’, it’s like: what’s going to happen to me if I don’t step where they want? Are they going to resort to physical violence?”

Another resident, Matt 25 designer, said “Umm, excuse me but I actually feel like the council is threatening me. Hello! This aggressive language is just not called for.”

Language expert Cynthia Blaise said, “There is an aggressive and threatening tone and in this day and age it’s just not called for.”

Clover Moore has been notified and she has removed all street signs at a cost of $322,000. Ms Moore said, “We can’t have our residents feeling threatened or offended. We are now looking into a replacement sign.”

Cynthia Blaise suggests the following: “Umm, like, excuse me! Soz, but it’s like a bit dangerous round here and stuff so like maybe be like heaps careful eh!”
