I am of course joking. The evening went off without a hitch.

The Surry Hills Times would like to shed its suit of satire and expose our naked feelings, warmly congratulating Mike Galvin and the crew from Darlo Darlings who put together an incredible Christmas in July dinner for the needy.

So we won’t bang on about some fictitious wealthy Hedge Fund Manager who insisted on his own booth, table service, a bottle of Cristal and complained that a valet service was not available.

Instead we sincerely thank the Darlo Darlings and their fearless leader Mike Galvin who put together a sumptuous buffet for those in need.

Mike would like to thank:
– The residents of Darlinghurst and Surry Hills Darlo Darlings Facebook Group members
– George Hall Art
– Infinity Bakery
– Grand Royal Barbers
– Coles
– Woolworths Potts Point
– Frankie’s Beans Coffee
– Bloody Mary’s Sydney and Bondi
– Pizza Autentico
– Procal Dairy
– Vet HQ
– Darlo Dogs
– Paws on the Run
– Tropicana Cafe
– David Lowe Magician
– Coca-Cola
– Southern Hospitality
– Andrew Loader Design
– Lord of the Rig Gym

As Mike said, “The Darlo Darlings Facebook group together with Rough Edges fed well over 200 people in the spirit of Christmas in July. For those who were there, it was a far greater success than we’d ever imagined. It was a huge party atmosphere which had to be seen to be believed. Congratulations to all the Darlo Darlings volunteers and the business community for being so very generous in so many ways.”

A remarkable effort.

Keep up the good work Darlings.
