Cricket tragics descended en masse in Surry Hills this evening. Restaurants braced themselves to manage the influx, fully expecting the crowd to partake in the local cuisine.
However the sweaty floral-clad punters voted with their feet, effectively ignoring some of our most prized possessions: restaurants such as Bills and Toko.
Manager of Bills, Graeme Hughes was aghast, “I just don’t understand it! We’re right here and we’re waiting. What about our Green fried rice with kimchi and fried egg for $22.50, it’s is easy and breezy, and our appealingly dark, and soft, squishy falafel for $23.50 with a bright clean, sunny cut-through… hello?! What are they after, a meat pie? Gimme a break.”
