It heralds a new age in betting, where if the punter accepts the fact they will invariably lose, they’ll be more likely to bet with an agency that was honest with them in the first place.

The SHT spoke to the wonderfully candid CEO of Brokelads, Greg Hartley, “The odds are like TOTALLY in our favour. The whole thing is geared toward us! Look at casinos! How do you think they got built?! It’s great!” said an effervescent Hartley.

Hartley went on to explain the company tagline ‘Crap Yourself’.

“Well the thing is. You’re betting your hard earned. And you’re almost definitely going to lose. When the race starts of course you’ll crap yourself. It just rings true. We believe punters will connect with that.”

The company has timed the launch for Australia’s biggest race, the Melbourne Cup. Which is perfect, in Hartley’s opinion.

“Who wins on the Cup. NO ONE! It’s always some random outsider. And we will CLEAN UP! Why? Because it’s un-Australian not to punt on the Cup. We’re just hoping that every Australian who lost money last year, and the year before, to bet with us.”
