An unlikely public stoush has broken out between Firemen and Ultimate Frisbee athletes concerning the simultaneous release date of their upcoming calendars with the Firefighters Association concerned that sales of their calendar will be dramatically reduced due to the clash.
The chairman of the Firefighters Association, Trent Barr, has come down hard, “The firefighters of Australia rely on the sale of their calendar every year for much needed boost to funds. This will hurt us.”
Now with the release of the Heroes of Ultimate Frisbee Calendar, the calendar market is dramatically reduced.
“Due to the Heroes of Ultimate Frisbee Calendar we just won’t reach the sales we used to. There’s only so much in the well, and it looks like after the release of Ultimate Frisbee the well will run dry.”
In fact the a petition demanding a Heroes of Ultimate Frisbee Calendar signed amongst Surry Hills’ residents reached the tens of thousands. Clearly due to popular demand it’s finally here.
The Surry Hills Times took the pulse of the street and 22 year old Georgina Banks’ heart was racing. “Firemen with their shirts off. So cliched. Boring. But unconventional guys living their life, taking a risk, doing their own thing and donating all the money to charity? OMG. That’s hot.”
Fireman Tobias Rowles opened up to the SHT.com, “Are we intimidated? Sure. We rely on sales of our calendar every year. The clash with the Frisbee guys is a real kick in the guts. I guess we’re just not hot anymore.”
Not a book or a fixie to be seen. Gross.
The notoriously private frisbee athletes finally agreed to the calendar as all its profits are going to charity: a local micro brewery.
Every Thursday they can be found playing at Moore Park to a feverish crowd.
