This is the moment five brave police officers, including two on horseback, took down a man who was sleeping in Surry Hills after a day at the beach.
The scene effectively dismantles the popular argument that our tax dollars are being wasted on an overly policed state.
The five police officers and both horses have been recommended for bravery awards given their selfless actions.
The man (name withheld) had fallen asleep after a day at the beach in 30+ degree heat but it was wisely deemed he was a danger to himself and the community.
Added to this there were multiple reports the man was snoring too loudly offending passersby.
That’s when police sprung into action.
Constable Constance said, “At approximately 6:27pm the Surry Hills Area Command received a disturbing call from a member of the public suggesting a man had fallen asleep in a public area and was snoring excessively. We immediately took action and arrived on the scene minutes later to discover the report was accurate. We surrounded the man and with extreme caution woke him up to discover he was in fact intoxicated at which point we are rested the man with force.”
The Surry Hills Times would like to thank the police force for ensuring we are safe from such evils.
