Surry Hills based advertising and strategy agency ‘Scarves and Insights’ has spent the day in lockdown as senior staff collectively grieved for the loss of the once-in-a-lifetime gravy train that was Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party.
“His appetite for ads was insatiable. It’s like the agency was a Yum Cha creating ads and he couldn’t stop eating.”
An inconsolable Michael Raso openly wept “I know this is going to sound silly but I never thought it would end. I enrolled my kids at Kings and Ascham I bought the latest Rangie, a spa… I don’t know what I was thinking. I’m completely fucked.”
Finally the agency embraced the metaphor. “We would wheel around trolleys full of scripts underneath silver trays. Clive would sit at a big round table and gorge himself on script after script. We’d keep saying “Anything else?” and he’d just keep buying more and more scripts. God I’m going to miss him.”
