David Oldfield Reviews ‘Romper Stomper’

After the success of Romper Stomper at the Logies last night, we asked David Oldfield to review the classic Australian film.

Well what can I say? I haven’t chuckled so much in a long time. This uproarious family comedy is a laugh-riot! Russell Crowe plays a loveable rogue called ‘Hando’ and along with his best buddy Davey they and their band of merry rascals cause all manner of mischief.

Hando (Russell Crowe) and Davey (Daniel Pollock) are the leaders of a spirited bunch who spend their nights skylarking with Asian immigrants in Melbourne.

All is well until the pair hook up with teenage Gabe (Jacqueline McKenzie). The poignantly cast red-haired scallywag begins to drive a wedge between the long-time friends.

All manner of mischief ensues in this refreshing treat for all.

Most amusing.

Didn’t care for the ending.
