Graffiti in Surry Hills Park

Graffiti artists are relentlessly terrorising the streets of Surry Hills.

More shocking graffiti has surfaced in the popular Surry Hills park overnight.

The quadrangle aligned with Shannon Reserve has yet again fallen victim at the hands of graffiti artists who seemed intent on sullying what is a children’s playground.

And it’s not the first time.

According to local residents graffiti artists have been on a rampage in the area for several years.

Why?

“On an almost daily basis we wake to find the area completely bombarded with graffiti.” said single mother Sarah Pollet. “Who knows what their intention is? It’s not art it’s just vandalism pure and simple. I’m not sure what they’re trying to prove but it just breaks our hearts.”

Residents have pointed the finger at the disaffected teenage young teenage youths occupying the Salvation Army Oasis Centre literally metres from Shannon Reserve.

“I’m not saying it was those kids but I can’t think of who else would be so intent on bombarding the area with this kind of vandalism on almost a daily basis” said one local.

Parents ask the perpetrators to think of the children.

Police have called upon witnesses to identify those responsible.
