A Love Story:
It’s common knowledge that dogs are a man’s best friend. But who is a dog’s best friend?
One dog made a best friend in a Surry Hills park yesterday.
His excitement was palpable. His owner’s heartbreak was clear.
Steve was rescued by his owner from a Pet Rescue shelter four years ago. He assumed they were best friends.
Steve had other ideas.
As soon as he saw Grahame his heart skipped a beat. Steve was delirious.
Grahame didn’t say much but that suited Steve. He’s a talker.
Steve brought Grahame home. That night they bonded. But Grahame was not all he seemed. It became clear that G was in fact a fake. Not, in fact, a dog at all, but rather a soft toy.
Steve’s suspicions were aroused when he dropped a ball at Grahame’s feet and he showed no interest.
Steve’s suspicions were confirmed when it came to dinner time and Grahame continued his catatonic stare.
Steve’s reaction was swift: moments later Grahame was torn to shreds in a mauling born from betrayal.
The lesson? Do not mess with Steve.
Later that evening Steve and his owner bonded on the couch.
Best friends, again.
